The TLC star shared only one child with Meri. Kody and Meri’s child was born biologically female. They decided to accept their true identity as a transgender person and transitioned to Leon Brown. Unfortunately, Kody wasn’t supportive of his child.
Several sources revealed that he wasn’t happy with his child’s decision. A rep stated, “He does not support Leon’s transition at all.” He was also disgusted with them. The TLC star even told his close friends that Leon was a completely new person and he didn’t know who they were. Meri never shared anything about her child’s decision. Sister Wives star Meri Brown is popular as Lone Wolf for a reason. She knows how to handle a situation and stand up for herself. The TLC star has learned a lot from her experiences. Hence, Meri doesn’t seem to be ready to let anyone belittle her only child. Leon Brown was previously known as Mariah Brown. However, they chose the name after announcing their transgender and queer identity in June 2022.
Leon received a lot of support for their bold decisions. Now, some fans are calling them by their old name, Mariah, on social media. So Meri took some time out to clap back at everyone for their disrespectful behavior. She targeted everyone in a live session to explain that her child doesn’t use the name anymore and that using the name would be disrespecting them.
She felt that calling someone’s “deadname” is not only painful but also cruel. Moreover, the reality TV celeb noted, “Don’t use their deadname! That’s not nice.” Meri admitted that it could be a little confusing for those who don’t know about the transition yet. So she was telling everyone so they won’t repeat the mistake again
She explained why she doesn’t talk about Leon and their partner much. She felt that the pair wanted privacy and she had just been fulfilling their wish. Further, the TLC celeb added, “They are great, I am great with them. We are good.”
