The explosive breakup between 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way couple Dempsey and Statler, or “Dumpster and Stapler” as they are known on Reddit, has sparked a social media firestorm. It all began last summer when Statler breached her NDA and spoiled their storyline as Season 6 of The Other Way premiered. Feeling used and abused by TLC’s production and her former British partner, Statler claimed that she was left in mental and financial turmoil after filming ended.
Statler’s explosive social media statements led to her being labeled as an unstable person, which resulted in her being uninvited from the Other Way Season 6 Tell-All. In her recent Instagram stories, Statler exposed Dempsey, accusing her of dating someone new and traveling the world with money earned from the show and the sale of a van they both paid for. Statler took out a loan and covered more than half of the van’s cost after Dempsey convinced her to adopt the “van life” and travel across Europe while continuing her remote work. Unfortunately, their van life plan was a disaster and ultimately became the final nail in the coffin of their relationship.
Post-breakup, Statler reached out to Dempsey’s ex-girlfriend to see if she had also been financially used and scammed by Dempsey. To Statler’s surprise, she discovered a troubling pattern. According to the ex, she and Dempsey had signed up to buy a house together. However, when relationship problems arose, Dempsey ran off to work on a farm in the middle of nowhere, leaving her partner to shoulder the financial burden of a house she couldn’t afford on her own.
Statler has been vocal about the fact that she didn’t receive a penny from the sale of the van she and Dempsey bought together despite having paid for more than half of it. Using her Instagram stories as her platform, she frequently calls Dempsey a narcissist, a claim that seems plausible if Statler’s allegations hold true.
Rumors are swirling that Dempsey is now dating another American woman and aims to appear in a future 90 Day Fiancé spin-off with her. According to Statler, it was always Dempsey’s dream to be on reality TV, not hers.
