90 Day Fiance Shekinah & Sarper Relationship Faces Trouble
Shekinah Garner and Sarper Güven have been on the 90 Day Fiance circuit for some time now. Fans have followed their journey from Shekinah leaving her life and family behind to move to Turkey. Sarper seemed to be her dream man though viewers had questions. He was very restrictive regarding her weight and what she could eat but there was another issue. Shekinah’s teenage daughter was in boarding school in America and would get a weeklong break every five weeks. Therefore, she would fly back to the States to be with her. Sarper has expressed his desire to have a baby with Shekinah but that is not something she cares for.
In the Season 11 premiere of 90 Day, he went and got his visa approved to come to America. That was a huge deal as Shekinah said the relationship could not last if she had to go back and forth constantly. Now, they are headed to America where they will start their new lives. He will also be more proactive in Sofie’s life as he and Shekinah are living together. So, how did Sofie affect their relationship which should be extremely solid at this point? According to People, a clip from the Sunday, March 2nd episode shows some tension between Sofie and Sarper.
At this point, Sofie has yet to meet Sarper. Therefore, Shekinah wants him to make a good impression on her and for her to see her mom in a happy and healthy relationship. She explains to Sarper why he must be on his best behavior:
“My daughter already has a bad impression of you from my family. You need to really think about everything you say because if she doesn’t like you, I can’t marry someone she doesn’t like — that’s my daughter.”
That does not sit well with Sarper, who responds like this:
“Are you kidding with me, babe? I mean, is that [a] threat?”
Over & Done?
Sarper Güven does not receive this well and essentially tells Shekinah Garner that if Sofie does not like him, he has a solution. The 90 Day Fiance star will only stay in America as a tourist and head home. This makes sense given he was struggling with leaving his parents behind in Turkey. Clearly, Shekinah is baffled by his reaction but he tells her he cannot stay in America if they do not get married. She then tells him there was a more appropriate answer:
“Why don’t you just say something like, ‘She’s going to love me. I’m going to do my best.’”
He goes on to repeat what she said and then adds in this:
“Of course I will do my best, but what do you want me to [do]? I cannot do extra than my character, you know? This is what I am. I’m an a–hole sometimes, but I’m cute.”
Ultimately, Sarper hopes that Shekinah’s daughter won’t be the end-all, be-all for their relationship but he will do his best. Do you think what Shekinah is asking is more than fair
